Our Story

The ODA is an industry association representing legal cannabis businesses. Founded in 2019, our membership includes hundreds of forward-thinking dispensary owners and operators serving Oklahoma patients. We offer affiliate memberships to all cannabis industry professionals. Our events and meetings provide educational resources and opportunities to connect and develop solid relationships across Oklahoma. We maintain strong government relations at the local and state levels in order to advocate on behalf of industry professionals, patients, and our communities. Individuals and businesses join the ODA every day to advance the work of creating best industry practices and advocating for reasonable regulation of a vibrant and responsible cannabis industry.

In 2020 we engaged the services of a leading lobbying firm to increase our ongoing presence at the Oklahoma State Capitol to amplify the organization’s voice and help guarantee that the tremendous impact of Oklahoma’s $1 billion medical marijuana industry on the local community is positive and beneficial. In 2021 we launched the ODA Town Hall, a statewide virtual programming series featuring constructive conversations with local and state business leaders and government officials to talk about the Oklahoma cannabis industry, current challenges, and upcoming legislation. We launched in person events in 2022 including the ODA Day at the Capitol and happy hours rotating between Tulsa and Oklahoma City, while continuing our virtual series and government relations efforts.
